While most of the nation's focus is on COVID-19, it is easy to forget that the US Census is happening too.

April 1, 2020, has been marked as Census Day across America and it has never been easier to respond to the census.

The census is a short questionnaire to count how many people live in a household as of April 1, 2020. It is designed to track the diverse and growing population in the United States, the five U.S. territories and to determine the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives, how federal dollars will be spent, and provide data that impacts communities everywhere for the next decade.

The individual information each household provides toward the census is safe and secure and protected by law.

So far the national response rate has been 34.7%. Colorado is reporting that 36.2% of households have responded.
