Longmont's one-and-only Brewhop Trolley has acquired two additional trolleys and will add a new route to the Niwot and Gunbarrel brewery scene.

The new route is expected to start March 24, 2018.

Brewery stops include: Beyond the Mountain Brewery, Asher, Avery, Finkel & Garf, Vindication, Gunbarrel Brewing, Bootstrap Brewing (Niwot location), and Powder Keg.

The Niwot/Gunbarrel loop will cost $15 and run from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Doing both the Longmont and Niwot/Gunbarrel loops in one day will cost $20.

According to David Lewis, owner of the Brewhop Trolley, the Tasty Weasel will serve as the junction between the Longmont route and the Niwot/Gunbarrel route. People will be able to transfer back and forth between the two loops.

Similar to the Longmont loop, the Niwot/Gunbarrel loop will take about an hour from beginning to end and people will be able to 'hop off and on' the trolley at the different breweries.

The other trolley will be used primarily for private events, weddings and corporate charters.

"Last year, we had a number of private events that we could have done but decided to keep the trolley in Longmont," said Lewis. "We knew there was business out there that we were missing out on and that's why we decided to get two additional trolleys."

As for why expand into Niwot/Gunbarrel area, Lewis stated that "they are the closest city with the highest concentration of breweries."

Lewis is also thinking about adding future routes into Firestone/Fredrick, Boulder, and even the Denver area.

"There are just so many pockets of breweries here along the front range that have nothing like this to bring people to them and try them out for at least an hour or so."
