The City manager of Boulder, Jane Brautigam, declared a 'stay at home' order starting at 5pm Tuesday, 3/24/20.

The order limits activity to essential businesses. It still allows travel, including use of public transit and it keeps essential business like hardware stores, banks, food and grocery stores, gas stations, agricultural operations, laundromats, shipping businesses, marijuana and liquor stores, home-based care for seniors, taxis, media and newspaper services, and restaurants only for delivery and takeout, open.

Denver recently issued a similar order.

In a news release, the City manager said “People need to take social distancing seriously to stop the spread of this virus. We have asked everyone to maintain at least 6 feet between individuals and not to gather in groups. Voluntary measures are not enough, and we must enact a stay at home order for everything but the most essential activities if we are to flatten the curve and stop the social spread of COVID-19.”
