Forecast Discussion (and longer range forecast):
Your humble meteorologist is going to take this quiet weather time to catch up on personal family items. Figure 1 shows we stay very dry and hot (it is 98F right now - holy cow!) through Wednesday. Our next front brings in rain chances on Thursday and a big cool down. You will notice that things dry out (with a tiny chance of afternoon showers, more up in the mountains) until the week after next when another front may arrive. The problem is that the next trough that cools us down also pushes the tropical moisture, that arrives Thursday, rapidly off to the east. This is not a wet pattern for us. Yet.
