Spirit of Arbor Day Tree Sale
In honor of Colorado Arbor Day on April 19, Forestry Services is coordinating a tree sale for the Longmont community. A variety of trees will be available at the below-wholesale cost of $80 each plus tax. From March 11 through April 8, residents can view and reserve trees online at LongmontColorado.gov/Forestry or by calling 303-651-8416. The tree sale is limited to Longmont residents, and there is a two-tree limit per person. Customers can pick up reserved trees at the City’s Sunset Campus, 7 South Sunset Street, on Saturday, April 13.

Community Conversations on Mental Health
The community is invited to participate in one of the last two Supporting Action for Mental Health (SAM) conversations to identify next steps to help shape the future of SAM. They will take place Monday, March 11, and Thursday, March 14. Visit bit.ly/samlongmont for times and locations. Longmont Ice Pavilion to Close for the Season
Weather permitting, the Longmont Ice Pavilion, 725 8th Avenue, will be open March 11-13 for a few more days of open skating and drop-in hockey. The annual Puck o’ the Irish hockey tournament follows March 14-17, and the public is invited to watch a fun, long weekend of fast-paced 4-on-4 hockey. Landlord Alliance Training: Sustainability
From 6:30 to 8 pm on Wednesday, March 13, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue, learn how City of Longmont sustainability programs can provide

Learn About Birding in Boulder County
From 7 to 8:30 pm on Thursday, March 28, naturalists with Boulder County Parks and Open Space will highlight some of the amazing birds of Boulder County in a special program at the Longmont Public Library, 409 4th Avenue. They’ll explore where best to see and how to identify some of our local birds, from raptors to songbirds, as well as the many challenges birds here face and how they adapt to the

Shock Art Call to Artists
Art in Public Places will accept submissions for 2019 Shock Art designs between March 30 and April 8. Submissions will be exhibited April 12-20 at the Old Town Marketplace, 332 Main Street. Community members are encouraged to vote for their favorite designs, and three winning artists will be awarded a commission to paint their design onto a City switchgear box. Explore the “Wild World of Podcasting”
One of the most popular podcasts of 2018 was created and published in Denver by a group that includes Laura Krantz. Krantz will bring the story of her podcast, “Wild Thing,” to the Library at 409 4th Avenue for “The Wild World of Podcasting” from 7 to 8 pm on Thursday,
April 4. “Wild Thing” focuses on the search for Bigfoot, as well as the believers and enthusiasts who have endless theories concerning the beast’s existence and origins.
