Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Friday, March 1. This is for residential documents only; no business documents accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Community Conversations on Mental Health
The community is invited to participate in one of four Supporting
Action for Mental Health (SAM) conversations to identify next steps to help shape the future of SAM. The first two conversations take place this Tuesday, March 5, and Saturday, March 9. SAM is a network of local government, organizations, and residents working to support individuals experiencing mental health issues in Longmont. Linking Longmont: Safe Walking, Riding, Rolling
Learn about plans and projects for active modes of travel through Longmont from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, March 6, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. Provide Your Ideas on Wildlife Management 
The public is invited to join the City of Longmont’s Parks, Open Space and Trails Division as they begin updating the Wildlife Management Plan, which was adopted in 2006. The city has hired topic experts to lead us through a public process and a plan update. The first public meeting will be from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 7,  at the Sunset Campus, 7 S. Landlord Alliance Training: Sustainability
From 6:30 to 8 pm on Wednesday, March 13, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue, learn how City of Longmont sustainability programs can provide financial and environmental benefits for landlords and their tenants. Learn About Birding in Boulder County
From 7 to 8:30 pm on Thursday, March 28, naturalists with Boulder County Parks and Open Space will highlight some of the amazing birds of Boulder County in a special program at the Longmont Public Library, 409 4th Avenue. They’ll explore where best to see and how to identify some of our local birds, from raptors to songbirds, as well as the many challenges birds here face and how they adapt to the ecosystems and habitats found in Boulder County. Team and individual free agent adult sports league registrations are accepted through the end of March for Recreation Services’ spring basketball and flag football programs. Register for Spring Fishing Event for Kids
The 17th annual Chick Clark Kids’ Fishing Program kickoff event will be held on Saturday, March 23, at Izaak Walton Pond, 18 S. Sunset Street. This program provides a special opportunity for Longmont youth ages 15 and younger to learn how to fish, participate in fun outdoor activities, and catch their own fish year-round. The March 23 kickoff includes a free kids’ fishing clinic (preregistration required), free lunch and free fishing for kids.
