Longmont Public Library patrons will need to get used to visiting the Library through the west-side entrance for two weeks in February.  From Monday, February 10 through Friday, February 21, the Library’s east entrance will be entirely closed while the City makes long-awaited repairs to the concrete walkway.  The Library’s parking lot, exterior book drops, and outside elevator serving the underground parking garage also will be closed during this time.  Understanding that some patrons exclusively use the book drops to return books, the Library will be waiving overdue fines on materials due during this period but returned late.

Additionally, the closure coincides with the first community meeting that is part of the City’s study of the future feasibility of the Library.  That meeting will be held at the Library on Monday, February 10 from 6:30 to 8 pm in the Children’s Section. It will focus primarily on services for children, teens, and families, but all comments and suggestions will be welcome.  Meeting attendees will need to enter the Library through the west side only.

Library staff apologizes for the inconvenience these closures will likely have on some patrons.
