The City of Longmont is undertaking the Southwest Longmont Operations Study to address future demands on Longmont’s multimodal transportation system in the southwest part of town. The study will examine the roadway network formed by Ken Pratt Boulevard, Hover Street, and Nelson Road, including major intersections along these corridors. The purpose of the study is to identify needed intersection, transportation system and multimodal improvements, supported by concept-level designs and cost estimates that can be incorporated into the City’s implementation plans for future construction. The study will consider a broad range of City concerns that are outlined in Envision Longmont including:
- Fulfilling transportation needs with neighborhood character
- Preserving arterial streets as the backbone of multimodal travel
- Integrating safe and accessible bicycle and pedestrian features
