Segment of South Pratt Parkway is Next Up for Pavement Management Plan

Minor lane closures throughout the day.

Motorists can expect minor lane closures throughout the day Friday, May 31, for concrete saw cutting work along the portion of South Pratt Parkway located between Ken Pratt Boulevard and Colorado Avenue. This stretch of road is being rehabilitated as part of the City of Longmont’s annual Pavement Management Program.

The concrete cutting work will be followed next week by replacement of broken concrete sidewalks and medians. A new asphalt overlay will be applied to this portion of roadway later this summer to complete the roadway’s rehabilitation.

The City’s annual Pavement Management Program contracts with private sector contractors for replacement of broken curbs and sidewalks, preventive maintenance such as crack sealing, chip sealing and pavement overlay, and reconstruction.

This work will complete the rehabilitation of South Pratt Parkway that also included replacement of the road’s bridge that could no longer convey the traffic volumes that crossed it daily. The bridge replacement also included new on-street bike lanes and dedicated sidewalks across the length of the bridge.

For questions about the work being performed, visit LongmontColorado.gov/pmp or call 303-651-8416.
