The St. Vrain Valley School Board heard the first reading of and adopted changes to several board policies on Wednesday night.

The revisions of the board policies included: Board Policies GCE/GCF – Professional Staff

Recruiting/Hiring; GCE/GCF-R – Professional Staff Recruiting/Hiring; GDA – Support Staff Positions; GDE/GDF – Support Staff Recruiting/Hiring; JF – Admission and Denial of Admission; JH – Student Absences and Excuses; JQ – Student Fees, Fines and Charges.

According to the memorandum presented to the school board, "These Board policies have had minor revisions recommended by the Colorado Association of School Boards to reflect the full implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act in the 2017-2018 school year and to delete references to No Child Left Behind, and have been reviewed by legal counsel and approved by administration."

Board Policy BG – School Board Policy Process states, “Policy revision shall be accomplished in the same manner as policy adoption, except that revisions mandated by changes in law shall not require a second reading and may be adopted upon majority

vote of the Board.”
