Chromebook Purchase of $597,498 Approved by School Board

At the April 11, 2018 school board meeting the Approval item to Purchase Chromebooks and Management Licenses was approved.

The net bid amount for the Chromebooks and management licenses is $597,498.00 and is awarded to Dell Marketing, L.P.

According to the memo presented to the school board: “The Purchasing Department issued Bid No. 2018-047 on February 28, 2018. Twelve (12) responses were received on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Award is recommended to the low responsive and responsible bidder, Dell Marketing, L.P. Due to the number of responses, the bid tabulation is attached for reference.”

The Chromebook purchase is to “support the increased instructional and assessment technology, to replace aging technology, and to outfit newly constructed schools (Grand View Elementary and Soaring Heights PK-8).”

In total 3,300 Chromebooks and management licenses will be purchased and 300 more units will be purchased to support several elementary lab replacements.

Mill Levy dollars dedicated to technology, the General Fund and bond funds are allocated to pay for the Chromebook and management licenses.
