Last week, the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley created an Emergency Fund for basic needs and assistance for St. Vrain Valley Schools students and their families, teachers and staff who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in our community. 100% of all donations received for the Emergency Fund will be directed to support these efforts in our community.

Today, the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley is announcing an immediate $30,000 grant to A Woman’s Work (AWW) and the OUR Center. This grant and new partnership will direct Education Foundation Emergency Funds to support St. Vrain Valley Schools students and families, teachers and staff who need immediate basic needs assistance to two great organizations who have established programs and can provide long term solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both organizations serve those in need in the St. Vrain Valley School District, including Longmont, Hygiene, Erie, Lyons, Niwot, Mead, Frederick, Firestone, and Dacono.

The Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley will also be utilizing the Emergency Fund to provide additional resources to our Crayons to Calculators program that provides school supplies to students who are in financial need and our Teacher Innovation Grants to continue supporting the outstanding innovation and creativity of our teachers to engage students in their learning during these difficult times.
