Longmont City Council Approves Resolution for Library Grant

Longmont City Council agreed unanimously to pass resolution R-2017-109 which approves an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Longmont and the State of Colorado for a library grant.

Longmont City Council agreed unanimously to pass resolution R-2017-109 which approves an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Longmont and the State of Colorado for a library grant.

As part of the State Grants for Libraries Act, the Longmont Public Library applied for a grant from the Colorado Department of Education. Longmont Public Library was granted $23,186. According to city council communication, "the library will use these funds to purchase access to online learning opportunities and eBooks."

The State Grants to Libraries Act is funded by a $2.5 million increase in the state's budget which was approved in the 2015 legislative session.
