The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) released an online tool for the public to engage in rulemaking.
As a part of implementing SB 19-181, COGCC is offering the public a way to engage and provide comments on four topics of rulemaking currently being conducted. They are alternative location analysis, cumulative impacts, flowline, and mission change (protecting public health, welfare, environment and wildlife).
SB 19-181 regulates oil and gas development in Colorado to protect public health, safety, welfare, the environment, and wildlife resources. As COGCC moves forward with establishing rules and procedures taking the public's input into consideration.
“Our goal is to engage the public and all stakeholders, and to allow them the opportunity to provide their voice in the rulemaking process,” said Director Jeff Robbins. “The COGCC website is a resource for all information on the rulemakings, and now we are offering an online portal where anyone, from anywhere around the state, can provide their comments and be a part of this process. Our online portal system is one more way we are demonstrating our commitment to public engagement.”
