City Council Open Forum on Tuesday
The Tuesday, June 4, city council meeting, beginning at 7 pm in the Council Chambers at 350 Kimbark Street, will be an Open Forum for residents to talk for 5 minutes each to council members about any topic on their minds. This is the only agenda item for this meeting; plan to arrive a little early to put your name on the list of speakers. Longmont Celebrates Bike Month
Strap on your helmet and jump on your bicycle – it’s time to celebrate 2019 Colorado Bike Month. Longmont riders can participate in two June events: Bike to Beverage Day on Saturday, June 15, and Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, June 26. Longmont Triathlon Weekend 
Swim, bike and run! Longmont Recreation & Golf Services, along with Altitude Physical Therapy, presents the annual Longmont Triathlon Weekend for kids and adults June 1-2 at Centennial Pool, 1201 Alpine Street. Visit LongmontColorado.gov/rec, RaceEntry.com, or Active.com for race information, or pick up a registration form at any City of Longmont recreation facility. Registration ends at noon on Wednesday, May 29, and resumes in person Friday, May 31, during packet pickup. Volunteers are needed! Call Sara at 303-774-4771 to volunteer.

Senior Workshop on Smart Devices for Health
Bring your fitness band, smartphone or other health and fitness accessory to the Lashley Street Station, 1200 Lashley Street, at 9:30 am on Thursday, June 6, to learn how to use it to get the accurate and timely health information you need to monitor your daily activities. The cost is $2 for residents and $3 for nonresidents. Register at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue, or call 303-651-8411.

Free Friday Fitness Classes in the Park
Mix up your workouts by taking them outside! Join Longmont Recreation & Golf Services for free fitness classes at parks throughout town. Classes meet in or near the parking lot, and no child care is available. For ages 14 and older. June classes on Fridays at 9 am include Tai Chi at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Avenue, on June 7, and Essentrics at Thompson Park, 420 Bross Street, on June 21. No registration is required. Lunch Program Returns
Through a collaboration between the St. Vrain Valley School District and Longmont’s Children, Youth and Families Division, free summer meals will be provided in Longmont Monday through Thursday from June 3 – July 25. For more information call 303-651-8580. See list of locations.

Middle School Nights at Sunset Pool
Tweens and teens ages 11-14 can swim to music and participate in contests and games (with no little kids!) from 7:30 to 9 pm every Thursday, June 6 through August 8, at Sunset Pool, 1900 Longs Peak Avenue. Admission is $4/resident or $5/nonresident; pool passes are not valid. No registration is required. For more information, call 303-651-8300.

Bicycle Friendly Driver Class
From 5:30 to 7 pm on Wednesday, June 12, the City of Longmont will present a Bicycle Friendly Driver class for all users of the roads at Left Hand Brewery, 1265 Boston Avenue. Whether you drive a bike, a car or a larger vehicle, this class will help you make the roads safer for everyone. This class, made possible by the City of Longmont’s Traffic Safety Fund, is free, but space is limited, so register today at bit.ly/LongmontBicycleClass.

Learn About Pollinators
June is Colorado Pollinator Month! Gardens can be designed to not only enhance the appearance of the site but also provide habitat that supports an array of wildlife including pollinators. From 5:30 to 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 13, learn about the various pollinator species you might see in your garden and how to attract them at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Registration is required at JoinUs.LongmontColorado.gov.

“Ruckus Rodeo” Exhibit Opening Reception
From 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, June 13, wear your boots and baubles to be among the first to experience “Ruckus Rodeo: Pop Art & Cowboy Culture” a new exhibit at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. The evening will feature Americana music by Bonnie & Taylor Sims, light appetizers, and a cash bar. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and free for members and children 3 and younger.
