The City of Longmont thanks residents for their efforts so far in helping slow the spread of COVID-19 and urges the community to follow a new statewide stay-at-home order to further protect their loved ones and neighbors.
The order from Gov. Jared Polis took effect Thursday morning at 6 a.m. and runs through April 11. Both the order and information about it may be found online at https://covid19.colorado.gov/stay-home-except-essential-needs. In light of the governor’s action, which is enforceable throughout Colorado, Boulder County Public Health has rescinded its own countywide order that was issued the same day.
“We are confident that by acting together and cooperating with the governor’s order, we can help mitigate the effects of the virus,” City Manager Harold Dominguez said. “We have faced adversity side-by-side before and we will do it again – standing by our neighbors as the strong, enduring, and compassionate community that we have always been. Please do your part and stay at home, so that we can better protect all of us.”
