Most City Facilities Closed on Veterans Day
Longmont city government observes the Veterans Day holiday on Monday, November 11. All City facilities will be CLOSED except the Longmont Recreation Center, the St. Vrain Memorial Building, Centennial Pool and the Ice Pavilion, which will be open regular hours. Trash, recycling and composting will be collected one day later than usual through the week.

 

City Council Swearing-in and Reception
The public is invited to a reception in honor of outgoing Council Member Bonnie Finley at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, November 12, at the Longmont Civic Center, 350 Kimbark Street. The public also is invited to attend the
swearing-in of the mayor and council at 7:30 pm on Monday, November 11, in the City Council Chambers at 350 Kimbark. For information, call 303-651-8601.

 

 

Holiday Open House & Winter Passport Launch
Downtown Longmont kicks off the holiday shopping season from 6 to 9 pm on Friday, November 8. More than 40 businesses will host Holiday Open Houses as part of 2nd Friday festivities to give shoppers a head start on this year’s short holiday shopping season. November 8 also marks the launch of the 2019 Winter Passport program. Almost 60 participating businesses will begin handing out Shop LoCo stickers to customers who can then enter to win over $1,000 in prizes. Find more information at DowntownLongmont.com

Use Tax

The Longmont City Council is recruiting to fill vacancies on several advisory boards and commissions. Longmont Ice Pavilion Opens Monday
The Longmont Ice Pavilion in Roosevelt Park at 725 8th Avenue is a seasonal full-service outdoor ice facility offering public ice skating, hockey, skating lessons, and party facilities through early March. Free Landfill Drop Day
The City of Longmont is giving residents an opportunity to take one level pickup load free of charge to the Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County Road 5 in Erie from 7 am to 2 pm on Saturday, November 16. Loads must be covered and secured for transport; oversize loads and second loads will be billed. Register Now for The Hour of Code
Head to the Library at 409 4th Avenue to join The Hour of Code global learning event. There will be two sessions on Monday, December 9. The first, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, is for 2nd through 5th grade students. The second, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, is for 6th through 10th grade students.
