Drinking Water Quality Report Now Online

The 2017 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report is available online at bit.ly/drinking-water-longmont. In it you’ll find information on and results of the most recent tests of Longmont’s drinking water. Printed copies are available to view at the Library, 409 4th Avenue; the Utility Billing office in the Civic Center, 350 Kimbark Street; and the Service Center at 1100 S. Sherman Street. Landlord Alliance Training: New Tax Laws

From 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, May 9, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue, staff from Longmont’s Code Enforcement and Planning & Development Services will discuss code issues in rental properties and how Code Enforcement can be a landlord’s partner in maintaining safe, code-compliant rentals. Summer Fun Begins at Sandstone Ranch

The final Itty Bitty City for the season is Friday, May 11, at the Memorial Building, but kids ages 2 to 10 will enjoy weekly themed crafts and activities from 9 am to noon every Friday, June 1 through July 27, at the Sandstone

Ranch Visitors & Learning Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive. Parents must supervise their children. Please consider carpooling due to limited parking. Fun Fridays are free with a $2 per child suggested donation to cover the cost of craft supplies. The Visitors Center is open to the public from 10 am to 2 pm every second and fourth Saturday from May 12 through October 27, and from 9 am to noon every Tuesday from May 22 through August 28. Landfill Drop Day

Longmont residents can take one level pickup load FREE of charge to the Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County

Road 5 in Erie from 7 am to 2 pm on Saturday, May 12. Loads must be covered and secured for transport; oversized loads and second loads will be billed accordingly. Shred Your Private Documents for Free

Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, May 12. This is for residential documents only; no business documents accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Despite its diminutive size, the emerald ash borer has decimated millions of trees in the U.S. and Canada. Its discovery in Longmont in 2016 was the first of the invasive insect in the state outside the City of Boulder. Learn about this threat to our city’s trees from the man who knows them best, City Forester Ken Wicklund, from 7 to 8 pm on Thursday, May 17, at the Longmont Public Library, 409 4th Avenue.
