Start off Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, June 26, at the City of Longmont’s breakfast stations from 6:30 to 9 am. If you ride your bike to work, stop by the Longmont Service Center at 1100 S. 2019 National Night Out
The National Night Out crime-prevention event will be held from 6 to 9 pm on Tuesday, August 6, in neighborhoods throughout Longmont. Many neighborhoods are hosting block parties and cookouts that include parades, flashlight walks and youth activities. Fun for Kids at the Library This Week
Children age 10 and younger can visit the Longmont Public Library at 409 4th Avenue for Maker Monday from 2 to 4 pm on June 24. From 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, June 25, teens and tweens are invited to the Dungeons & Dragons Drop-in Adventure. From 10 to 10:45 am on Thursday, June 27, Live! at the Library will feature Break EFX Crew’s interactive breakdancing performance and instruction. Head back to the library on Friday, July 12, for the free Friday Family Film “The Emperor’s New Groove.” Tickets are handed out beginning at 1:30 pm. Teen and tween anime fans can spend Saturday, June 29, with an AniMovie Afternoon, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Register for the Roger’s River Run 5K
Get ready to GLOW at the Roger’s River Run 5K, sponsored by UCHealth, at 7:30 pm on Friday, July 12, at Roger’s Grove Nature Area, 220 Hover Street, during Rhythm on the River. Wear your glow and party apparel, and run, walk or dance the 5K all the way to the finish line followed by after-race goodies, glow-tastic specialty awards, and the award ceremony. Early bird registration fees by noon on July 11 are $20 for adults, $15 for youth 14 and younger and seniors 60 and older. Race day fees increase $5 if space is available. Chuck Wagon Dinner & Square Dance

Volunteer at Rhythm on the River
Every year more than 100 dedicated, engaged, community-minded volunteers step up to make Longmont’s Rhythm on the River summer festival happen. This year’s festival is July 12 and 13 at Roger’s Grove, 220 Hover Street. Volunteer shifts are available between 4:30 and 11 pm each day, and all volunteers receive an official keepsake T-shirt to wear at the event. EV Chargers Improving on the Double
Longmont is getting new electric vehicle chargers – and they’re
twice as nice! The four City-owned EV sites will have new ChargePoint Level 2 charging stations that can handle two cars at once when space is available, allowing customers access to one of the largest charging networks in the U.S. The upgrade will take place the first week of July at the Longmont Museum, the Longmont Service Center, the St. Vrain Memorial Building, and the 300 East Main parking lot. Drivers should make alternate plans while the stations are being replaced. Customers should download the ChargePoint app; the old EV Connect app will not be usable after the replacement.
