South Pratt Parkway to Close Overnight May 7 & 8 for Bridge Girder Installation

The parkway will be fully closed from Delaware to Boston Avenues from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Use Main Street as an alternate route.

South Pratt Parkway is scheduled to be closed overnight for two consecutive dates for delivery and installation of girders for the South Pratt Parkway Bridge replacement project.

The full road closures will begin at 8 p.m. and continue until 5 a.m. on both Monday, May 7, and Tuesday, May 8, between Delaware Avenue and Boston Avenue, and no vehicular, bicycle or pedestrian traffic will be allowed through during that time.

Detour routes will be set up on Delaware and Boston, but travelers are encouraged to use Main Street as an alternate route if possible.

Parklane Avenue and Fairlane Avenue will not be accessible from South Pratt Parkway

during these full road closures. Park Manor residents will need to use Parklane Avenue from Delaware Avenue east of South Pratt Parkway to access their homes.

After delivery, the girders will be set on the west side of the new bridge using two large cranes. This girder installation is an important milestone that signifies the overall bridge replacement project is nearing the halfway point.

The South Pratt Parkway Bridge replacement project is anticipated to continue through September.
