Crews worked through the night to clear roads of approximately six inches of snow. Longmont received a large amount of snow in a short period of time overnight, which has limited the widening of streets. Forecasts predict cold temperatures today, and crews will continue to clear streets, bike lanes, and turn lanes throughout the day. These low temperatures mixed with the new snow will cause slick and icy conditions. The low temperatures will also limit the amount of melting on the streets today. Due to this, chemical applications to the streets will also not be as effective. Caution should be used on overpasses, bridges, and intersections. Please allow extra time in your commute.
