The Longmont Sustainability Coalition is seeking additional members. The group, which meets quarterly, brings together diverse perspectives and expertise to advise city staff on the progress of the City of Longmont’s work to achieve the goals of the Sustainability Plan.

The Board of Environmental Affairs oversees the Sustainability Coalition and is the entity that will take any formal sustainability-related recommendations to City Council.

Key Roles and Responsibilities of the Sustainability Coalition

  • Provide feedback on tracking and reporting progress of strategy implementation and associated sustainability initiatives
  • Provide feedback on the annual review of goals, objectives, and targets in the Sustainability Plan
  • Identify opportunities and barriers to strategy implementation
  • Identify mechanisms to ensure that sustainability activities and benefits are equitably shared across our community
  • Support community outreach and engagement efforts
  • Support advocacy for sustainability initiatives
  • Provide technical expertise as

    needed
