Do you own property in Longmont?  If so, you should be versed in what's happening right now to modify and update Longmont's Code.  The last update was in 2001 and the city is looking for input.

From the City's website:

The Land Development Code governs the development of land in the City of Longmont. It governs what land is under the City's jurisdiction, how property is divided for sale or development, what a parcel of land may be used for, how structures are built on that land, and aspects of development that must be on every site - like open space, parking, and lighting.

To ensure that the Land Development Code continues to be up to date with best practices and current trends, creates opportunities for innovative and creative quality development, and represents the vision and collective desires of the community, the City is in the process of updating the Land Development Code to implement the City’s recently adopted Envision Longmont Multi-Modal and Comprehensive Plan. The Land Development Code update will also take into consideration other plans and reports, such as the Downtown Master Plan, St. Vrain Blueprint, and recommendations regarding affordable and supportive housing.

Right now, the city would like your input on Short Term Rental's.  They have a survey you can fill out here:

This is part of the discussion around companies like Air B-n-B that allow people to rent out rooms, or entire properties, for short term occupancy (less than 30 days).
