Longmont City Council Approves Internet Crimes Against Children Grant

Longmont City Council unanimously approved R-2018-2, a resolution approving the intergovernmental agreement between the City of Longmont and the City of Colorado Springs for an Internet Crimes Against Children Grant, on Tuesday night.

The grant is an Internet Crimes Against Children Investigative Support grant. The Longmont Police Department has received these funds for the eighth year, with funds beginning in 2010. While these funds can be used for training and investigations for Internet Crimes Against Children, the Longmont Police Department plans to use them for training.

According to city council communication, "This is a reimbursement grant in which expenditures have been approved for funding under the grant. The total amount of the grant is $6068. The funding expenditure will be made through city funds, followed by reimbursement of those funds back to the City of Longmont with grant funds."
