THE DIRTY DEETS...

We're bringing on track captains to the LSW 19 team. Track captains are the peanut butter of our PB&J sandwich, the hops in our beer, the squeeze of lime to our street taco. They are the key ingredient to our whole week.

Some key skills you should have up your sleeve are:

  • Knowledge of the track you'd like to steer!
  • Commitment to community impact
  • Willing to experiment and try new things
  • Ability to work with multiple community stakeholders
  • Action-oriented and independent
  • Passionate about supporting other entrepreneurs and startups in their own journey

As a track captain, you can expect to have these things on your to-do list:

  • Conceptualize the week of sessions for your track (currently estimating about 10-12 events per track). What will attendees generally take away? What will people expect from attending a session in your track?
  • Design the content. What are the key events in your track? What are the types of sessions you'd like to offer? No need to offer specific event descriptions –– "How to Pitch to an Angel Investor" (a workshop) or "Urban Design for Driverless Cars" (a presentation) will do.
  • Collaborate with the LSW Core Team to invite speakers and finalize the logistics of your track. Don't worry, we'll help schedule out all the specifics, including the time and location of your sessions. We just want your leadership in designing the content!

We know this is a big job! We'll support you throughout the whole process – trainings, 1-on-1s, introductions, and an occasional drink (or two).  Click here to be a Track Captain.

Interested in offering content, but not being a track captain? Don't worry, we'll have an open call for content coming soon! Keep your eyes peeled for another announcement...
