Ivy Rose, located at 520 Main Street, Suite A1, in Longmont, held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, to celebrate joining the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC).
According to their website, "Ivy Rose is a boutique full of ever changing on-trend clothing, jewelry and accessories for women of every generation."
Brian Berry, board chair of the LACC, presented Rosemary Bieker, owner of Ivy Rose, with a plaque to commemorate the event.
During the ribbon cutting, Bieker stated that Ivy Rose is "based on a store that actually exists in Grand Junction, Colorado." After vacationing there with her husband, Beiker would always go into a store called Pollux. However, during July of 2016, she saw the store but it was closed for the holiday.
"We had just moved to Longmont six months previous and I said 'you know what, that store would do really well in Longmont.'"
After reaching out to the owner of Pollux, Beiker asked if they would be willing to open a store in Longmont. After saying no, she then asked if they could collaborate somehow. They came to an agreement and Beiker began speaking to the Longmont Downtown Development Authority (LDDA).
"I spoke with Janine Ledingham when she was the executive director of the LDDA. And then I spoke to Kimberly, and then somebody else, and then they threw me into a business plan class," said Beiker. "Every door I opened just kind of pulled me through.
"My vision is to provide on-trend, fashion-forward, ever-changing clothing for women of every generation. My youngest customer is twelve and my oldest customer has been 85 so far."
