The Boulder County Commissioners and Parks & Open Space staff will present their annual Land Conservation Awards Thursday, April 11, in Longmont.

Each spring during Volunteer Week, Boulder County honors individuals or groups with its Land Conservation Awards for outstanding contributions made to the conservation, preservation, and protection of land-based environmental resources.

What: 2018 Parks & Open Space Land Conservation Awards
When: Thursday, April 11, at 3 p.m.
Where: Ron Stewart Parks & Open Space office, 5201 St. Vrain Road, Longmont

The commissioners will present the following awards:

  • Land Conservation Award to Elizabeth Black for tireless and selfless dedication to Boulder County agriculture.
  • Environmental Stewardship Award to Janet George for over thirty years of collaboration on wildlife management in the region.
  • Partnership Award to Crocs for outstanding contribution to projects at Heil Valley Ranch.
  • Volunteer Awards will be presented to: Betty Musfeldt for outstanding contribution as a cultural history volunteer; and Claudia Thiem and Kathleen Andres for outstanding contribution as Master Gardener volunteers.
